INSIGHTS

4 ways AI will help with hiring in 2023/24.

The world of hiring is constantly evolving, we can expect to see even more changes due to the increasing use of artificial intelligence (AI). From screening CVs to conducting interviews, AI is set to revolutionise the way we hire. So how will AI help with hiring in 2023/24?

1. Streamlining the Application Process

One of the most time-consuming parts of the hiring process is sifting through resumes and cover letters. By the end of the year, AI will be able to automate this process, saving hiring managers countless hours of work.

AI algorithms will be able to scan CVs and cover letters for relevant keywords, work experience, and education, and rank candidates based on their qualifications. This will allow hiring managers to quickly identify the most qualified candidates and move them to the top of the pile.

2. Reducing Bias in Hiring

Bias in hiring has been a longstanding issue, with recruiters and hiring managers often unconsciously favouring candidates who share their background or experience. AI has the potential to eliminate this bias by using objective criteria to evaluate candidates.

For example, AI algorithms can be programmed to ignore demographic information such as race, gender, and age, and focus solely on qualifications and experience. This will help to ensure that the best candidates are selected for the job, regardless of their background.

3. Conducting Initial Interviews

AI will also be able to conduct initial interviews with candidates. This will save recruiters and hiring managers even more time, as they will no longer need to spend hours on the phone or in person interviewing candidates. AI-powered chatbots will be able to ask candidates a series of questions and evaluate their responses, providing a score based on their qualifications and experience.

This will allow recruiters to quickly identify the most promising candidates and move them on to the next stage of the hiring process. Personally we’re not sure how we feel about this one, but it will most certainly be a thing.

4. Improving the Candidate Experience

The hiring process can be stressful and overwhelming for candidates, but AI has the potential to make it a more positive experience. For example, chatbots can be programmed to answer candidates’ questions about the job and the company, providing them with the information they need to feel confident and prepared. AI can also be used to provide candidates with feedback on their application or interview.

Overall, AI is set to revolutionise the hiring process in 2023, making it faster, more efficient, and more objective.
